Marc Ayres
Black & White Photography

Hey ALL, I’m Marc, and my lens is my gateway to a world of contrasts and emotions.

I’m based in the vibrant town of Faversham but work wordwide. I’ve embarked on a photographic journey that spans an array of genres, from the raw energy of street and documentary photography to the intimate nuances of the erotic. I believe that black and white photography holds a unique power, stripping away distractions and leaving behind the pure essence of the moment.

Whether I’m capturing the gritty authenticity of the streets or delving into the delicate dance of sensuality, my aim is to capture people for longer than the few seconds you get on Instagram.

Join me in exploring life’s myriad facets through the monochromatic lens, where boundaries blur and emotions take center stage.

Why shoot black and white? Well, put simply, I love the timeless quality that it gives images. By removing colour from an image it becomes harder to date and allows the viewer to focus more on the subject, the light and shadows, the composition, without being distracted by colour. I am trying to create images people would like to look at for longer than the few seconds we are used to as we flick through our Instagram feed.

Plus I am actually colour blind and although when I started my photographic path I used colour, once I had discovered black and white I knew my path was set.
